Kaddu Sebunya

CEO, African Wildlife Foundation

“Without a doubt, the number one favourite wild animal I like to see in wildlife photography is the black and white colobus monkey. Not only is it a beautiful animal but also it is my name and my clan from Uganda; Sebunya means ‘black and white colobus monkey’. In my culture, I am required to protect it and, therefore, I like it.

I would like to see more photos and mentions of it. The black and white fur of the majestic animal emanates majesty that is beyond question. It lives in the forests, especially in countries such as Uganda, Malawi, Ethiopia and Tanzania. Sadly, it is threatened. The demand for wood and expansion of agriculture is destroying the black and white colobus monkey’s habitat.”
