“Without doubt, my favourite species to view as a photographic subject is the wild tiger.
‘Wild’ is the operative word. With only 3,800 tigers left in the wild, yet around 20,000 in captivity globally, often fuelling the illegal wildlife trade, the challenge to find and shoot an incredible photograph of this highly elusive creature in the wild brings the wildlife photographer challenges like few other species.
The king of the big cats, the tiger stirs up something very primal in all of us. They have power, strength, energy and bravery. The largest, yet most endangered, of all the worlds big cats is on the edge of extinction. Ironically, that stunning photo in a distant gallery may be all we leave future generations.”
