The more time you spend with them, the greater the variety of images you can create, from intimate, tightly framed portraits to wider images capturing the epic environment in which they live.

Their constant quest for food (up to 150 kilogrammes of it per day) ensures that any time you spend with them, they’re engaging subjects. But they’re also fascinating to watch if you simply put the camera down for a while and enjoy the view.

For me, there is no greater thrill in photography than creating a dynamic image of the world’s largest land animal.”
